Lee's Golden Dragon
goal of bringing the lion dance to Houston, Texas. Sifu Lee originally
began his lion dance studies during college with a Chinese-American
dance company based in San Francisco, California, and he never missed
the weekly practice sessions despite having to endure four-hour
roundtrip bus rides to attend each practice. Upon his return to
Houston, Sifu Lee continued his enthusiasm and dedication to create
Lee's Golden Dragon.
Throughout its history, Lee's Golden Dragon has incorporated a diverse
range of dance styles including Northern lion dancing, Chinese ballet,
Chinese acrobatics and, most recently, the exciting style of
competition-level pole performances. Now, Lee's Golden Dragon embarks
on a new journey: bringing Texas lion dancing to the rest of the world.
