ROAR-R-R! You are visiting the home of the 2005 & 2006 Manitoba World Invitational Lion Dance Festival. In 2005, our inaugural year, was the first ever Lion Dance competition held in mainland North America.
DALDIC has been able to achieve its mission of introducing dragon and lion dance to Canada and of bringing international dragon and lion dance troupes to Winnipeg in the past two years. Last year we were honoured to present the seven - time world champions from Malaysia, Kun Seng Keng
This year DALDIC is concentrating on developing dragon and lion dance troupes in North America. Participating in this years’ event will be two teams from Winnipeg the Wushu Manitoba Training Centre, YKM Flying Lion Dance Troupe and two teams from Lee’s Golden Dragon in Houston, Texas and the Leung’s White Crane Dragon & Lion Dance Association from San Francisco, California. Performing for the first time in Canada will be an all female dragon troupe from San Francisco. This will be a befitting celebration for the lunar year of the Golden Pig.
